Program Objective
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT) presentation assistance program has been developed to provide guidance on the development of evidence-based educational sessions for conferences at the local, state, and national level (to exclude AAOMPT conference and APTA CSM). The primary aim is to provide personalized guidance to novice educators who have an interest in presenting manual therapy-related content at the local, state, or national (non-AAOMPT, non-CSM) level. The selected individual will be assisted in developing a competitive session proposal and building an evidence-based presentation supported by high-level research.
Process
The AAOMPT education committee will receive applications on a rolling basis. Applications will be reviewed and scored by at least 3 committee members as they are received, and those that are deemed appropriate will be assigned to one of the committee members.
- Content assistance: The education committee member assigned to the project will work directly with the applicant based on the applicant’s specific needs for guidance and assistance. It is at the discretion of the education committee member to establish appropriate involvement. Education committee members will notify the education committee chair of any issues during this process. If appropriate for the presentation, the applicant will acknowledge AAOMPT and the education committee in the presentation materials for their assistance.
- Financial assistance: If deemed appropriate, the education committee may financially support up to 200 USD in reimbursement to cover registration and travel fees for the presenter. This is not guaranteed, is only available if needed to allow the presenter to attend/present the content, and is dispersed at the discretion of the education committee.
