Fellowship Renewals

AAOMPT Fellow Renewal

As of April 8, 2019 an amendment to the bylaws to eliminate fellow renewal every ten years passed. The bylaw in Article III, Section 2c, Paragraph 2 will now read as follows:

An individual who meets the criteria and remains a member in good standing is recognized as a fellow.

Our fellowship membership requirement is now consistent with other member organizations of IFOMPT. We hope that you will continue to commit to a lifelong professional journey with AAOMPT. Moving forward as a thriving academy, we feel it is also important to highlight some reminders and opportunities that this change provides.

 - In addition to maintaining licensure as a physical therapist, membership in the APTA and the AAOMPT is still mandatory to be considered a fellow of the AAOMPT.
 - As a Fellow of the AAOMPT, you will abide by and uphold the AAOMPT code of ethics and positions.
 - During your annual membership renewal, in addition to paying membership fees, you will provide attestation indicating that you continue professional development to maintain the knowledge necessary to mentor new Fellow should the opportunity arise under IFOMPT Standards and provide manual physical therapy care consistent with current best evidence.
